For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. - Romans 6:23
I am thankful today for a loving God that does not abandon me to the wages of my sin but instead offers me hope and freedom from the chains of an eternal life lived apart from him.
This is truly our hope as followers of Christ, eternity with God experiencing the fullness of his Glory in a new heaven and new earth. A free gift that cannot be earned or achieved, but that is freely given.
Every day I am confronted with the opportunity to either give freely to the people I love, lead, and serve, or to demand something of them in return for my attention, service, and care.
My prayer today is that I would remember the mercy and love shown to me by the Father through Christ and that I too would be willing to give freely of all that I have to those I love and lead. In severance to Christ and following his lead that I would open the doors to my talents, potential, time, and resources and give to those around me.
- Is there someone you love, lead, or serve that would benefit from the hand of grace rather than the hand of judgement?
- Is there an area of your life where you are still trying to earn the love and grace of God?
- Who needs to hear the Good News of God's love for them and his free gift of salvation through Christ?
Make it a great day!
