I am writing to all of you in Rome who are loved by God and are called to be his own holy people. May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace. - Romans 1:7
There is such power and comfort in these opening words from the apostle Paul. He encourages believers by reminding them that they are loved by God, called by God, adopted by God, and made whole by God.
In other words, he is reminding all believers that we belong to God. He is ours and we are his through Jesus Christ.
When we search for belonging outside of God we set ourselves up for disappointment. The relationships we have, the companies we work for, the political parties we belong too will all let us down at some point in time.
God will not let us down. He alone is able to deliver on every promise He makes.
When we strive to build our lives outside of God we set ourselves up for failure. The foundation of every relationship, our work, and our life must begin with the wholeness we receive through the grace and peace of our Lord.
The grace and peace of our Lord is what we strive for each day in every interaction with others. We take comfort in the grace we receive in this lifetime so that we can have eternity at peace with our Creator and Savior.
Father thank you for allowing me to belong to you! Thank you for loving me, adopting me, calling me, and making me whole through your grace and peace. Holy Spirit help me to live in the power of this truth each day. Jesus show me how to extend your grace and peace to those I love, lead, and serve.
- Do you believe you belong to God and that he loves you?
- Knowing that you are called to holiness, what areas of your life and leadership do you need to give up completely to God?
- How has God's grace and peace been evident in your life?
Make it a great day!
