What can I offer the LORD for all he has done for me? I will lift up the cup of salvation and praise the LORD's name for saving me. I will keep my promises to the LORD in the presence of all his people. - Psalms 116:12-14
So very thankful today for a loving God that continually blesses me and fills my spirit with joy. No matter what is going on in this world, it is comforting to know that God never stops pursuing, loving, and extending His hand to me.
I think too often I find my prayers lacking an element of praise and thanksgiving. I need to remember the answered prayers, the miracles around me, the healing, and the presence of the Holy Spirit in my life.
I am reminded today to lift the cup of salvation and praise God no matter what dark clouds I am facing. No matter what the negative media is gushing over in its reporting. No matter what crisis presents itself in the next twenty-four hours. I must remember to look up and praise the name of the LORD for saving me.
Saving me from a life focused only me, from an ego that hurts more than helps, from a sinful nature that pursues destructive solutions to my natural wants and desires.
I am convicted today to do this in my prayers and also in my words and in my actions. It is in keeping the promise to walk humbly, seek justice, love mercy, and love as Christ did that I demonstrate my gratitude towards the LORD.
LORD, thank you for saving me. Thank you for sending your son to die on a cross in my place. Holy Spirit, remind me of all that I have to be grateful for. Remind me in the storm that you have the power to silence the wind and calm the seas. Jesus, I praise you for choosing to descend from heaven, become sin, and die for our salvation. Help me to honor this sacrifice each day through my words and actions. Amen.
